Weekend Inspiration No. 1

Weekend Inspiration No. 1

spring cherry blossoms

This week, instead of my usual Field Trip, I’m sharing a grab-bag of links. It includes stuff to make and do, things to buy, and food to eat. Because I want to continue to share cool places I visit, my plan is to alternate this with the Field Trips on Fridays. I want to keep this blog fresh and interesting, but not too unpredictable, so I’m trying to keep you updated on my schedule so you know what to expect when you visit.

Need to make this simple copper mirror stand.

Follow this tutorial to sew your own vintage-inspired dress.

The pocket choices on Colette Pattern’s new skirt, Selene, are killer. The pattern is 15% off until April 19, so grab it if you think you might sew it!

Did you know you can dye with ice? The effect is really cool.

Super cute, sporty bras that come in tons of great color combinations. (I hate the word, but I think these might be the definition of “athleisure.”)

The Portland Flea + Food launches next Sunday, April 24, bringing us a monthly market of new and vintage decor and fashion, plus food carts and a bar. The Portland Flea has been at Union/Pine for a while (where I’ve found fantastic bookends and my favorite vintage sweater), but this new incarnation will be at the intersection of SE 6th Ave and Salmon at Rejuvenation and Jacobsen Salt Co, from 11-4 on the last Sunday of the month.

I’m going plant-crazy these days, and my plants are telling me they want this pot, and this one. What, your plants don’t talk to you?

A reminder that iced coffee season is on the horizon, and my new goal is to try all 33 of these recipes (but I’ll probably mostly stick to my old favorites of coconut milk iced coffee and almond honey cold-brew.

Have a wonderful weekend!
