Weekend Inspiration

Weekend Inspiration

Yes, those are cross-country ski tracks down the alley a few blocks from my house.

This week has been a pretty weird one, because we got more snow than we’ve ever gotten in my lifetime, and nobody saw it coming. We got a foot of snow, and even the meteorologists are like, “That was crazy, we only expected a few inches! Our models were totally wrong! There was freaky snow lightning!” As someone who grew up in the Portland area and is used to only getting a couple of inches once or twice each winter, I am NOT complaining. The snow is beautiful and fun, and will be gone soon, so I’m enjoying it while I can. It has actually made it really difficult to finish some work I needed to do this week, but I’ve still loved it. Also, it’s been forcing Steven and me to get pretty creative with the contents of our pantry and fridge, which is actually kind of fun. Though I think we’ll need some fresh provisions soon. So I’ll be trying to get out of the house a bit this weekend!

Love these beautiful DIY wood wall hooks.

Make these fun zodiac constellation plates for your next party.

The stars would go perfectly with these moon phase candles.

These raw vegan lime cheesecakes look too good to be true.

As soon as I can get the yarn for it, I’ve promised to make my husband a version of this simple knit beanie.

  1. I wondered how the snow was near you when I read a national weather service report and they mentioned all the unexpected snow. It always looks so pretty but sucks to drive in. Pat S

    1. Pat, it’s definitely not good to drive in, especially when the roads aren’t plowed. And it just isn’t melting! Luckily I work from home, because my car is currently stuck in my street parking spot, and it’s not going anywhere without a lot more shoveling.

      1. I live in Ohio and have had my car buried a lot. I used to be the only one in my office living in Cleveland and not being able to get off my street to get to work. I remember having to walk to the corner store for milk and bread. I hope your pantry is still stocked. Pat S

        1. Luckily we can walk to stores if we really need to, but the snow and ice is finally melting away, hooray! I hope winter where you live isn’t treating you too badly this year 🙂
