Post-Move Blues

Post-Move Blues

After moving for real on Tuesday, my new plan in life is to never move again. Ever. I’m going to die in this house. Which might be pretty easy to do, since it’s already tried to kill me. Okay, I’m being a bit overly dramatic, but yesterday I was carrying a few towels down from the upstairs bedroom, and I slipped on the third stair from the bottom. I was wearing socks and my feet just went right out from under me, and I slammed down onto my back on the last two steps. At the time I was home alone, and I just rolled around on the floor for a while, trying to catch my breath (it was knocked out of me), and decide if anything was broken. I think I just severely strained/bruised muscles, but right now I’m writing from bed, where I’ve been laid up all day with an ice pack, painkillers, and the company of a very happy cat. Having me hang out in bed all day with her is really awesome as far as Delicious is concerned, not so cool for everyone else. I didn’t even have the solace of blogging to distract me, since until about half an hour ago, our internet wasn’t hooked up yet. But I did manage to look up anti-slip coatings that can be applied to wood stairs. That’s going on my to-do list as soon as I can move around without pain.

So my plans for fresh new blog posts were entirely scuttled in the last few days. Even lifting my arms up to hold a camera hurts right now. I’m sure I’ll be fine soon, and at least I can blog now, even if I can’t create new projects quite yet. Thanks for hanging in there with me!

  2. Rachel, glad you didn’t break anything. The last time I had a stair mishap I fractured my ankle and was laid up for months. Positive thoughts coming your way.
