Friends

This weekend Steven and I decided to go sit in a nearby park and read. I wore my newly-studded shoes to make sure I had installed the studs properly so that they didn’t poke my feet (they were fine).

I also wore a vintage dress I bought in Portland. It needed some small repairs, including fixing previous work. Who would think it’s a good idea to sew this dress with black thread? Practically any other color would be better! My theory is that it was the only color the previous owner had available, but seriously, what was she thinking? I fixed it up and resized it a bit, but left it loose. Normally I would wear a belt with it, because the waist is quite large on me, but it was just too hot to put fabric closer to my skin.

Getting my hair off the back of my neck is also one way I cope with the heat, and I thought the addition of a little braid made it a bit fancier.

While we were at the park Steven made a new friend. As with many friendships, it began over food.

He almost grabbed that bit of pizza crust, but got scared at the last second.
