When I found this skirt in a thrift store, it was nice, but pretty conservative and a bit boring. It had a lovely lace hem, though.
Recently I had seen a couple of examples of lacy cutouts on the bottom edge of a skirt, so I decided to accentuate that aspect of my skirt.
Left, middle, right
All I did was shorten and hem the lining above the edge of the lace to create a peek-a-boo effect. I quite like it over black tights, though it’s pretty over bare skin, too. If I ever get tired of the look, I can always wear a slip to make it a bit more demure.
If you can find a similar skirt, with a lace edge and a lining, it would be easy to duplicate the look yourself.
