White Summer Skirt

White Summer Skirt

Yesterday I wrote about wanting some summer whites in my wardrobe, and now I’ve fulfilled my craving for a white skirt. I didn’t use a pattern for this one, I just made a waistband (based on what I learned making this one), and gathered a 60″-wide piece of fabric to fit. It only took a yard of sale fabric (this one), plus some lining fabric, a bit of interfacing, and a zipper. For some reason I made lots of dumb mistakes with this, and had to unpick many stitches, but I’m happy with how it turned out in the end. My only regret is that the fabric is polyester, so it’s a bit stiffer and shinier than I’d like. If I find some nicer cotton fabric (maybe an eyelet?) I just might have to make another, though this one will certainly do for now.

  1. It’s really cute! I’m planning something similar; i was lucky enough to find some yards of off-white lace at a yard sale today 🙂

    1. Thanks Lindsi! Ooh, white lace sounds like it’ll make a nice skirt. Good luck sewing it up!
