Coconut Sea Salt Hair Spray

Coconut Sea Salt Hair Spray

It’s really starting to feel like summer is coming to an end here in Portland. The nights are getting cooler, the days aren’t quite so scorching, and there’s even rain in the forecast (good, ’cause we need it!) That means no more beach days, but we can still pretend it’s summer with this coconut sea salt hair spray. Spray it in your hair for textured, beachy waves, plus a lovely coconut scent. Now close your eyes, and imagine you’re on the beach. Repeat all winter.

As a curly-haired lady, I also like to use this stuff to help revive my curls the day after showering. It helps them curl back up, plus I love the coconut smell. Not ready to give up beachy hair for the season? Make this DIY sea salt hair spray

Steps

1. Add the sea salt and Emspom salt to the hot water. Stir until all of the salt is dissolved. I used just-boiled water, but if you use cooler water and the salt isn’t dissolving, a microwave can help speed things up.
2. Stir in the argan oil if you’re using it. Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then add the coconut cream fragrance oil. Cap the jar, shake, and transfer to the spray bottle. This recipe makes several times what would fit in this 2 oz bottle, so store the rest in the capped jar, and refill as necessary. Not ready to give up beachy hair for the season? 3. To use, shake the bottle, spray evenly on damp hair, and scrunch hair.
