I know I’m not the only one who has trouble resisting the dollar spot area at Target. It’s just too good, right? Often I avoid them entirely because I know I might get sucked in, but this time I was glad I did, because I spotted the perfect item to hack for plant stands.

This plant stand hack is so easy that it doesn’t even count as a DIY. This $5 metal wastebasket from Target (they don’t sell them online) makes a perfect plant stand, and you can even use it two different ways. Upside-down, like a table.

Or, if you can find a pot with a rim of the right size, you can use it right-side-up, as a lower stand.

I’m a big fan of this plant stand hack both ways. It reminds me a little bit of these plant stands, but at a lot more affordable price.

Plus it comes in a bunch of different colors. I was pretty tempted by the gold version, too.

So don’t hesitate to put your plants in the trash!
