Make an easy candy-colored studded barrette for a great shot of color in your spring and summer outfits. Spraypaint these days comes in tons of fun colors, so you can make these in any color you like.
Materials:
Metal studs (I used these)
Barrette blanks (these are similar to the ones I used)
Spraypaint (I used Krylon, in “watermelon” and “blue ocean breeze”)
Spray primer (one recommended for metal)
Pliers
Glue (I used E6000)
Methods:
1. Lay the studs out on the barrette blank, and use the pliers to bend the prongs around the back to hold them in place.
2. Glue the studs to the barrette, adding glue to the front and back of the barrette to hold them in place. Wipe off excess glue, and allow the glue to dry.
3. Paint the studs with one or two coats of white spray primer. Follow the directions on your primer for best results.
4. Following the directions on your paint, paint your barrettes with several light coats of spraypaint. Allow to dry thoroughly.
Those barrettes are so cute!! And I was surprised about how easy it looks! My favorite is the blue ocean breeze, it’s the perfect color 🙂
