For the past week I’ve been in Arizona, looking after my 82-year-old grandmother after she had a fall. She’ll be okay, and she’s already much better. But since she lives by herself in a pretty isolated location, my family asked if I’d go help her. I enjoyed spending time with her, and I certainly didn’t mind the warmer temperatures in southern Arizona. I wandered around my grandmother’s backyard taking photos of the mountains…
the roadrunners…
and the sunsets.
We were surprised to wake up one morning to snow, with more coming down. My grandma said she’d only seen a light dusting of snow once since she moved there in 1993. The snow was mostly gone after a few hours, but it was pretty while it lasted. The next day the temperature was back in the 60s (twice the high temperature in Boston).
Snow on a cactus just doesn’t look right.
This little guy stuck to my coat. Isn’t it pretty?
These photos are amazing. I’m enjoying your blog very much.
