I can’t remember whether I’ve worn this dress in a blog post before, but I don’t think I have. I sewed it a couple of years ago (not sure what pattern, but I could probably figure it out if anyone really wants to know), and recently rediscovered it in my closet. When I put it on I remembered how much I like it, mainly due to a couple of small details. First, I used misprinted fabric, which I think I got at SCRAP or a thrift store. I deliberately included the misprinted edge because I like how it contrasts with the sweet floral pattern, but it’s the kind of thing that most people probably don’t notice. I also drafted pockets and added them to the side seams because really, more dresses need pockets. These are pretty much invisible until I put my hands in them, meaning that they’re secret pockets. And, as everybody knows, the secret version of something is better than the version that everybody knows about.
