DIY Leather Cord and Brass Bead Earrings Tutorial
Over the years I’ve accumulated tons of craft supplies of various types, so I often try to figure out projects to use up leftovers. This is one I came up with for some of the leather cord I used for these bracelets and the brass beads from these earrings and these bracelets.
Leather cord, 1.5mm diameter
Faceted brass beads with a 2mm hole
1. Slip a headpin into your bead cone, and use the pliers to bend the wire so you have a loop on the top of the cone. Leave a little space between the loop and the cone.
2. Wrap the wire around itself a few times, then trim it. Attach ear wires to the loops.
3. Cut two pieces of leather cord 2 inches long, and two pieces 2.5 inches long. String 5 beads onto the shorter pieces, and 9 beads onto the longer ones.
4. Dab glue onto the ends of the leather, loop the pieces, and insert them into the bead cones. Wipe off any excess glue, and allow to dry at least overnight.
I’m working on another project to use up some more leather scraps. Here’s a preview:
