Today I came across this list of 9 Free Ways to Refresh Your Wardrobe for Spring, and thought it had some great ideas. The one that really caught my eye, though, was number 7:
The article advises that you, “Hem only the lining of an old lace or eyelet skirt so that the lower portion becomes see-through and you can achieve that peek-a-boo look.” The reason that I took notice is that I did that exact thing to a skirt back in October of 2012 (wow, how time flies!).
It reminded me that I should pull that skirt out of the back of my closet and wear it this spring. But I also wanted to share the inspiration, because it really is a quick and easy update for a lace skirt.
My other favorite idea from that article is this one, to add a raw, ankle-length frayed hem to a pair of jeans. This example looks so good, but I think it depends on finding jeans with just the right fit.
What do you think? Would you use any of those tips?
