Today I was modeling some new products for my shop (more on that in a day or two), and I was trying to come up with a way to wear my hair that would look good with a scarf. I remembered that every time I see Keiko Lynn in a scarf she looks adorable, and lo and behold I found her video for how to do a messy bun.

After watching it I gave it a try, and I have to say that I think I may have found my new go-to summer hairstyle for when I want to wear my hair up. It was super easy, and since my hair is curly, I didn’t even have to bother with the volume powder spray or teasing. Here are a couple of quick camera-phone photos:

If you’re ready to jump on the peplum bandwagon, this no-sew belt version looks pretty cute and easy.

Wouldn’t these balloons would be an awesome addition to a party? The Alison Show has a tutorial for the fringe tassels. Now I just need an excuse for a party.

Love this DIY for painting an army backpack. The combination of gold, green, and chevrons is so inspired.

I’m sure you’ve heard it a million times by now, but if you’re not already, you should be wearing sunscreen on a daily basis! This list of the best natural sunscreens is great. I wear the untinted version of the Coola facial sunscreen they recommend, and it’s perfect.

This plain mug was spruced up using Sharpie Paint Markers, and unlike some of the other mug + Sharpie projects I’ve seen, it’s supposedly dishwasher safe. I can’t wait to try this. Get the DIY here.
