A couple of months ago I got it in my head that I wanted a vintage bar cart. It was probably a result of seeing too many lovely examples on blogs and Pinterest. Watch out, or I’ll make you want one, too.
A fabulous vintage bar cart isn’t really in the budget for me right now (someday!), but I am nothing if not resourceful. Some neighbors were having a garage sale with a large free pile, and I spotted this little table:
Honestly, I had a bunch of other free stuff to carry and wasn’t even going to bother hauling it home, but my friend Karla pointed out that we could put plants on it, so I took another look. Before I knew it I was carrying it back to our house, where it sat in the garage waiting for some TLC. After some cleaning, sanding, and teak oil application, I ended up with this:
I started to add “before” and “after” labels to these photos, and then decided that was pretty unnecessary.
It’s not perfect, but with some styling it makes a pretty cute little mini bar, doesn’t it?
I think it needs more bottles, and maybe some colorful glassware or props. We’re thinking of either painting the top, or adding a mirror or tray. What do you think?
