Pears are one of my favorite fruits, and they just so happen to be in season right now, so I decided to share this delicious pear cocktail. And since everything ties back to the holidays these days, I think it would make a terrific pre-dinner Thanksgiving drink. (Slightly off topic, but have you ever seen those bottles of pear liqueur with a pear in the bottle, and wondered how they get in in there? They actually grow the pear in the bottle. Amazing, right?)
Pear and Rosemary Cocktail
1 1/2 oz pear liqueur
1 1/2 oz gin
3/4 oz lemon juice
2 rosemary sprigs
soda water
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the rosemary sprigs in the lemon juice. Add ice, pour in the pear liqueur and gin, and shake vigorously until chilled. Strain into a highball or rocks glass and top with a small splash of soda water. Garnish with rosemary to serve.
