As the season has changed from summer to fall, I’ve been adjusting my clothing with the temperatures, pulling out my jackets, scarves, and jeans. And as I’ve been incorporating more fall fabrics into my outfits, I’ve been noticing how much interiors pull from some of the same trends as clothing. Which makes sense–just as you put away your summer sundresses and pull out the wool sweaters, you also might add flannel sheets and cozy wool blankets to your bed. There have been a couple of trends in particular that have caught my eye, so I decided to do a little series, which I’m calling “Outfits and Interiors,” about the convergence of fashion and interior design. And I’m starting with one of the ultimate fall fabrics (but a year-round staple in the Pacific Northwest), plaid.
