Thai Iced Tea Popsicles Recipe

Thai Iced Tea Popsicles Recipe

This weekend I made Thai iced tea popsicles. I had always assumed that the Thai iced tea you can order in Thai restaurants is made with a special type of tea, since it usually has an orange hue. One day, though, I looked it up and discovered that it’s actually made with black tea, sometimes with food coloring and some spices added. So making these ice pops is really as easy as brewing some strong black tea. They may not be orange, but they still taste just like the drink, and they’re a really delicious and refreshing treat for a warm day.

Thai Iced Tea Popsicles

2 cups water
8 black tea bags
2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

Bring two cups of water to a boil. Add the tea bags and allow the tea to steep 5-10 minutes. Remove tea bags and squeeze the liquid out of them into the bowl or pan. Stir in sweetened condensed milk and cardamom, pour into ice pop molds and freeze until firm. (4-24 hours depending on size)
